Norwegian Escape Returns to Service 1

The NCL Escape, the huge & popular “Breakaway Plus” class ship has had repairs completed due to the minor damage to the hull received by running aground in the Dominican Republic in March 2022.

The Escape had to exit service when it ran aground in Puerto Plata, ending the vacation of nearly 2000 passengers needing to be disembarked in Puerto Plata.

The sailings will resume initially from Civitavecchia going to Livorno, Naples, Messina, Valletta, Corfu, Piraeus, and Santorini (returning to Civitavecchia) then a repositioning cruise in November will take the NCL Escape back to America for sailings sent to depart from Port Canaveral, FL to the Caribbean.

No other repairs or upgrades were mentioned by Norwegian Cruise Line, so this dry dock has only addressed the hull damage.
